Day 17: Choices

Think back to a time where you were part of a group of people who wanted to do something that you knew wasn’t really the right thing to do; how did you respond to it?

Pray: Clear your mind. Meditate on the change God has led you to in the past.

Read: Daniel 3

Questions: Why did King Nebuchadnezzar want people to bow down and worship the image of gold? Was it worth doing? Why or why not? (v4-7)

What was so interesting about Shadrach, Messhach, and Abednego’s response? (v16-18) Ultimately, where did they find their security in? How did you know this?

Why would God allow these three men to be tied up and thrown into the fire? (v28-29)

Application: Think again back to that time when everyone else was doing something that you knew wasn’t really the right thing to do. Why do you think God would allow you to be in that position at that time? Perhaps that time was necessary to teach you a lesson. You remorse now is proof of your growth and compassion. Why would it be important to follow through with what you knew was right? How does that help you in becoming part of God’s kingdom?

Decisions come in forms of big and little. Ask God to give you discernment to make the right ones. Ones that glorify Him.
